Update Notes
(This page is intended for current customers
only.)
This current version contains all enhancements
shown below:
Version 8.1.1
- The rail overlaps of the drawers are now
independent of the door rail overlaps.
- There now exist user-defined dimensions that can
be inserted from the Insert menu at the floorplan generator. These dimensions are horizontal
dimensions, vertical dimensions, or parallel dimensions to two points chosen. To use these new functions, click the
first point you want to measure, then click the second point. Finally, click a third point, where the
dimension will be actually placed.
- There now exist user-defined text with arrows
that can be inserted from the Insert menu at the floorplan generator.
- The panel optimizer is now fully functional. When at a General Cutlist screen, check
the Panel Optimizer choice, and make sure you are generating Panels to
your cutlist.
- The user interface has changed dramatically for
viewing furniture and garage accessories.
- The Garage accessories, such as cars,
basketballs, snowboards, etc. are now operational. If you wish to purchase the library,
please contact Siskiyou Products.
- CNC support is very close to being
completed. If you are a beta
tester who has been waiting for CNC support, please contact Siskiyou
Products.
- Minor changes have occurred in the job bidding
routines.
Version 8.0.0S
- Some bugs were found in the new pricing
module. Specifically, the “cost
per lineal foot” categories were not operating as they should have. These bugs have been corrected here.
Version 8.0.0Q
- The 1st release of the pricing module
is now operational. Be sure to
download the video tutorial explaining how to operate this module. It will be available for download from
August 13, 2004 until August 20, 2004.
- Under some circumstances, Door Reports did not
print out as a result of changes made for the Pricing Module. This problem has been corrected in this
version.
Version 8.0.0N
- Opening dimensions are now visible when in face
frame mode at the Cabinet Editor.
- Opening dimensions are now supported in frameless
mode. Turn this feature on via the
Graphics Settings option at the Shop Setup.
- In Door Pro, you may now choose cathedral
templates based upon door width or rail length.
(See the Door/Drawer Construction Methods screen.)
- In some cases, when joining modular cabinets into
long custom cabinets, the height and width was rounded to an integer. This has been corrected.
- After the last update, in some cases, doors were
not being shown at the Cabinet Editor.
This has been corrected.
- When you click the Refresh
button at the CAD screen, the program refreshes all variables and redraws
the floorplan in plan view.
If you prefer having the floorplan remain in the position you are
currently viewing, click the Refresh
button with right mouse button instead of the left.
- The next update should have the new furniture
module producing cultists. If you
have purchased the 3D modeling addition to Cabinet Pro, i.e., the Furniture
Edition, quite a bit of work has gone into re-designing its interface into
the existing Cabinet Pro resulting in a much greater ease of use. A new tutorial will be made shortly
describing the operation of the new Furniture interface. This tutorial will be available for
download via our website.
- Pricing is currently being heavily worked on, and
is scheduled for partial release this July, and in completed form, this
August.
Version 8.0.0L
- The new toolbars that were introduced in Version
8.0.0G have resulted in complaints of program slowdown with some of our
customers. Therefore, that new
feature has been deleted from the program as of this version.
- There exists a new checkbox at the top of the
Cabinet Editor screen that allows the Face Frame user to omit all parts
from the drawing except the faceframe.
The height of the cabinet automatically adjusts to the height of
the total cabinet minus the height of the toekick. (This checkbox will not be visible when
in frameless mode.)
- There exists a new command button on the toolbar
at the CAD screen and at the Cabinet Editor screen titled “DXF”. This will allow the user to save the
displayed drawing as a DXF file to be used in another CAD program. This will allow the user all of the
capabilities of a third party CAD program, including the capability of
printing the drawings to a Plotter.
Version 8.0.0H
- The variables, after selecting a part in the Edit
Mode of the Cabinet Editor were not appearing in Version G below. This update corrects that oversight.
Version 8.0.0G
- In Door Pro, when a panel without a frame is
made, the program will now allow both panel insets into stiles and rails
to be active – even though there are no stiles or rails present.
- The Panel Optimizer is now operational. Please email any requests for
enhancements to claire@profactum.com.
- The Furniture module has changed
dramatically. It is now available
from the Cabinet Editor screen.
Please click a part on a given cabinet, or press the Parts Libr button at the bottom left part of the
screen to experiment with its operation.
There will exist a new video tutorial shortly to explain in detail
how this new feature operates.
- New parts that are added via the Parts Libr
button at the Cabinet Editor screen will produce a cutlist in the next
program update (due for release on May 28, 2004). Please email the shapes or photos of
any parts you would like to see added to the Furniture Library. Email your requests to
patrick@profactum.com.
- There exists a new toolbar in both the Cabinet
Editor screen and the Floorplan Generator screen. You may move this bar where ever you
wish, as well as stretch or shrink it to your liking. In addition, you may have the toolbar
Vertical, Horizontal, or Stacked, by pressing the V, H, or S buttons found
on the toolbar itself. If you need
help in any of these tasks, please feel free to call Frank at (541)
776-9133.
- There have been some corrections in the new
Drawer Box mode of the Door/Drawer Order Entry screen.
- The Refresh
button in the floorplan generator has been moved from the middle to the
bottom right portion of the CAD screen.
- The Refresh
button has been eliminated from the Cabinet Editor screen. Please use the Apply button in
lieu of this eliminated button.
- For Garage Pro users: This update contains the new updated Accessories Group
Library. You will need to activate
this library via the Activate a Library
option on the File Menu at the opening screen.
(You may want to review the Activating
3rd Party Libraries video tutorial.)
Version 8.0.0F
- The middle stile extension field in the door
library now applies only to the top middle stile when there exists a
full-length rail between the upper and lower middle stile.
- In some cases, the cutlist was not reporting the
correct number of middle rails on multiple paneled doors. This problem has now been resolved.
- A new field has been added to the door style
definitions within the Door Library.
This new field is called, “Added Sq. Ft. Price.” This field will add (or subtract) the
dollar amount you place here to the appropriate dollar amount found within
the Pricing Grid.
- Door Pro now allows the making of drawer boxes by
entering the dimensions of a given drawer box. At the order entry screen, you must switch from “Door Mode”
to “Drawer Box” mode via the drop down menu box located on the right side
of the order entry screen. Please
be careful in using this function, in that it is new and has not been
thoroughly tested yet. (Cabinet
Pro users may access the Doors without Cabinets screen for this
feature.)
- A bug fix in the Garage Edition now allows the
pricing module to add the square footage of wall panels when these panels
are of the same dimension.
- The Door/Drawer Order Entry screen now supports
the making of drawer boxes. Place
the screen in Drawer Box mode and enter drawer boxes by width, depth, and
height. The program will determine
prices via the Door Pricing Grid, where the style, DWR BOX, references the
sq. footage of the drawer box sides and ends. The style, DWR BTM, references the sq. footage of the drawer
box bottom.
Version 8.0.0C
- Pricing module for dealers has been enhanced to
include non-graphics accessories.
- When in decimal mode, the program will round
numbers to the nearest .000001 inch.
- At the floorplan generator, when the Binocular
Icon is pressed, you will now have the option of changing all items in the
current room by clicking one of the photographs, or changing just the next
item(s) that will be placed.
Version 8.0.0A
- Pricing for dealers, or manufacturers who rely on
cabinet list pricing is now operational.
More detailed pricing methods will soon be following.
- As a result of allowing doors to be priced by
either frame material or door material, the pricing grid was found to zero
its values out when being refreshed.
This has been resolved.
- If you have any suggestions for how you want the
upcoming financial reports formatted, what kind of information you would
like included, how you price cabinets, etc. please email your suggestions
to Siskiyou Products (make sure you place the word “support” in the
subject line, otherwise your email may be deleted.)
Version 7.10.2L
- You may now attach a microwave, hood vent,
television, etc. under a wall
cabinet. While at the Cabinet
Editor, access the Door/Drawer tab, fill
in the width and height of your under-cabinet appliance, then press the “Edit Appl. Photo” prompt to select the
appliance picture of your choice.
- Under some circumstances, the photograph changes
made at the floorplan generator did not stay changed to the current
job. This has been resolved.
- While at the floorplan generator, you may now edit
the 3D material for a single item, or for an entire cabinet. For an entire cabinet, click the
cabinet to highlight all parts.
For a single part, access the Edit menu at the top of the floorplan
generator, followed by “Select a single item”. After you have highlighted the item(s) of your choice,
access the Edit menu again and click, “3D Rendering Textures”. This will change the 3D material for all highlighted items.
Version 7.10.2K
- The kitchen sink, when in photographic mode, has
been set to a standard 33”x21” sink, rather than being altered according
to the cabinet on which it is placed.
- You now have the option of placing pulls at the
bottom, middle, or top of a door.
Access the Cabinet Editor, select
the Doors/Drawers tab, and choose the pull
location of your choice, located on the right of this tab.
- Window, door, and appliance placement has been
altered to be more consistent with cabinet placement.
- You may now automatically place each library cabinet at the ceiling level,
soffit level, bottom of wall cabinet level, or floor level. Access the Cabinet
Info tab while at the Cabinet Editor
to use this feature.
- When pricing doors by the square foot, you now
have the option of having Door Pro (and later, Cabinet Pro) base its
material price on door panel material or door frame material. See the General
Options routine of the General Shop Setup.
Version 7.10.2J
- The measuring tape function, accessed via the
icon at the floorplan generator with the yellow ruler on it, now snaps to
whatever line you have inside the little box at the tip of the mouse
arrow. In addition, it will print
the distance on the screen for easier viewing. Finally, you may click numerous points to determine numerous
distances from the first reference point clicked.
- The problem with door openings being incorrectly
reported on some cutlists has been resolved.
Version 7.10.2F
- Door Pro now allows the option of pricing your
doors by the square foot, square meter, or square millimeter. See the General Options screen in the
Shop Setup to set your preference.
- Entering 1.5mm as the value of a parameter was
not accepted under some circumstances.
This has been corrected.
Version 7.10.2E
- Cabinet Pro now allows the changing of all doors
currently existing in a job! Both
the photograph and the cutlist can be globally changed for either base or
wall cabinets at one time!
- To have the photos appear, after you have
selected the ones of your choice, press the icon with binoculars on it, at
the bottom right of the floorplan.
Press the button again to have them disappear.
- If you left-click one of the photos, you will be
changing the item it represents on the existing room – including both the
photograph of the object on the floorplan, as well as the cutlist (if
changing doors).
- You may view a video tutorial on this feature by
clicking Video Tutorials at the Download screen.
- Although this feature has been tested before its
release, be careful with this feature, for it is quite new. It is suggested that you back up your
job via the Tools menu at the opening screen before using this new
feature. Choose the
“Tools-Backup-Backup Current Job” option.
Version 7.10.2B
- The U-Shaped kitchen (w/3 walls) now points down,
rather than to the right.
- Three new automatic wall creations have been
added: single car garage, double
car garage, and 3-car garage.
- Photographic drawings may now be placed on Left
and Right hinged doors.
- The waste factor for materials is now consistent
with the library values in the cutlist.
- The Job Notes attached to each job has been
enhanced.
- A few reported errors have been corrected.
7.10.1A
- New Video tutorials are now available for
download. If you are current on
update fees for 2004, a new CD will be mailed to you shortly. If you prefer, you may download these
videos from our Download link at www.cabinetpro.com,
but it may take a while. There now
exist 31 video tutorials for Cabinet Pro, Door Pro, and the Garage Edition
of Cabinet Pro.
Version 7.9.3D
- Go to the General Options section of the Shop
Setup, and place a check in the new option, “Place the floorplan in 3D
mode when snapping cabinets.” This
will make snapping cabinets to walls or other cabinets easier.
- Snapping cabinets with fillers or scribes
resulted in incorrect placement.
Fillers and scribes are now taken into consideration by the program
when snapped to another cabinet or wall.
Version 7.9.3B
- The Door Pro invoicing report showed the total
square footage incorrectly. This
update corrects that problem.
- In some cases, the right stile of a long custom
face frame cabinet disappeared from the shop drawing. This update corrects that problem.
- Corner cabinets now snap to other cabinets
consistently, and vice versa.
- Countertops and walls may now be accurately moved
via the Place From function.
- Important: This update corrects a rather serious problem
some users experienced in saving and retrieving jobs.
- There now exists the ability to copy a job
as the next available job while at the Job Management screen.
- There now exists the ability to copy a room from
one room into another while at the Changing Rooms screen.
- The Door Entry screen required the use of the
restore button to bring back doors from a previous job. This is no longer the case.
Version 7.9.2T
- Glitch Fix: The sorting of doors in the Door Order
Entry screen was jumbling the data.
This has been fixed.
- There exists a new and more efficient method of
saving and retrieving jobs. You
should not notice any difference in operation, except that your jobs will
be more quickly retrieved and will be more secure during saving. This new method of saving jobs replaces
the method used for the last 12 years, and should minimize the sporadic
loss of jobs that has been reported.
- There existed a graphical error where the right
finished end was not recognizing the right reveal correctly. This has been fixed.
- Shelf Depth Adjustment: For
those who make face frame cabinets, the variables that control the Depth
Adjustment of fixed and adjustable shelves will need to be altered. Now, if you have this adjustment set to
zero, your shelf depth will extend from the back of the Faceframe to the
front of the cabinet’s back. Make
sure you alter these variables, otherwise your shelves will come out too
short!
- There existed a graphical error where the left
finished end, if it was a door from the Door Library, was being drawn away
from the cabinet when a right blind end existed. This has been fixed.
Version 7.9.2Q
- Face frame construction now allows the choice
between inside and outside face frame reveals for unfinished and finished
ends. See the Case Construction Methods section under Building Methods in the General Shop
Setup.
- 3D Rendering material may now be saved per
cabinet to the library, and brought back with that material regardless of
what the room’s 3D Rendering material is setup as.
- Important: At the Graphics Settings screen of the General Shop Setup,
there will exist a new option at the upper left part of the screen: “In
Phototexture mode, When changing the door style of a cabinet, change the
door and texture for”
1. Always ask first, before changing any 3D texture.
2. the current cabinet only.
3. all cabinets in the room.
4. nothing. Do not
change anything but the door style.
Your answer to this question will
become effective only in the Cabinet Editior, when you are changing a door
style. The cabinet that you are
designing may now take on its 3D textures from the room definitions, or from
the individual cabinet definitions, depending upon what you choose when you
change door styles. The individual
cabinet definitions are saved to that cabinet’s library definitions, and
will also be brought back next time you pull that cabinet from the library.
·
3D
Rendering material, at the Cabinet Editor, will take on the Room Definitions of 3D texturing if the
checkbox for “Material for 3D” is unchecked at the Cabinet Info tab. If this checkbox is checked, then the cabinet’s 3D Rendering
material will be defined by the cabinet’s 3D
material from its saved library information.
·
Material
used for cutlists may also be saved to the library, and brought back upon
demand. Simply place a check in the box
“Material for Cutlist” when you save your
cabinet to the library, or when you bring it back from the library, and the
material used for that cabinet when it was last saved to the library
will define that cabinet rather than whatever room material may be
current. (It may be a good idea to turn
on the option, “Show what is being retrieved from
the library during cabinet placement” found at the General Options screen, under Miscellaneous Setups at the General Shop Setup.)
